Kendriya Vidyalaya Borjhar was set up by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body under Ministry of Education Govt of India, in 1973 at Air-Force Station (Mountain Shadow), Borjhar, Guwahati. PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Borjhar is located within the residential campus of Air Force Station, Mountain Shadow amidst sylvan and lush green surroundings and boasts of a three-storey building with modern infrastructure. It is about 18 Km from Guwahati Railway Station on the way to Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Air-Port. It is situated on the National Highway No.37, the life line of North East Region. The Vidyalaya is surrounded by Guwahati University on the eastern part and L.G.B.I Air Port on the western part nearly 4 km away. Azara Railway station is in the proximity of the Vidyalaya nearly 2 km to the North and State Institute of Rural Development in the southern part of it.
